This new series of 19 cartoon shorts will begin rolling out on Friday, June 28 on Disney Channel, Disney.com and WATCH Disney Channel. An online game, “Mickey Delivery Dash,” also debuts today on Disney.com.
Emmy Award-winning artist and director Paul Rudish (Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls) is the executive producer and director. Aaron Springer (SpongeBob SquarePants, Gravity Falls) and Clay Morrow (Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls) are directors, and Joseph Holt (The Powerpuff Girls) is the art director. Dakarai Molokomme, a 15-year-old starving child from a small village in Zimbabwe, has just told Madonna, one of the most famous pop stars in the world, to go and f*** herself, the local media are reporting exclusively.
“Yes, it’s true, I told Madonna to go f*** herself. Do you want to know why?” Dakarai asked. “It’s the same thing every time with these snobby rich Americans. Every once in a while they come to show us their support for the so-called eradication of poverty by adopting a child from a starving family, but they actually do more harm than good. In further discussions with journalists from the media, the kid stated that “none of the children here actually want to be taken away from their family and friends so they can be displayed as some kind of trophy in the homes of self-righteous singers or actors who want to score some points with the media and Oprah.”

You know it just seems kind of wrong to me that this didn’t get any attention.
In China on the same day as the Sandy Hook shooting, 22 children and an elderly woman were stabbed outside a primary school. (full article here x)
I have seen a ton of posts about the Connecticut shooting, which is great. We need to show that this sort of thing is not okay. Yet I have not seen one post about this. It’s not okay for this sort of thing to happen in any part of the world, and it doesn’t help that the media sucks ass. They focus in on America, and when something bad happens to America, it get’s amplified. But in China? There’s some articles out there, but it goes unnoticed because terrible things like that happen frequently in other countries.
Sandy Hook was a tragedy, but can we maybe say a prayer for these injured little kids too?
Well, the thing is, China places a lot of censorship on its media and pretty much controls the flow of information between Chinese news agencies and their audiences. That’s why it takes quite a while to get news out from the country. Plus, with its history of restricting international journalists (even Hong Kong journalists who are technically “Chinese” citizens), it’s really hard to get on-the-site information as well.
Sandy Hook, on the other hand, gained lots more attention and was sensationalized because it was so much easier and faster to get information about the incident. There’s a lot more freedom in America.
This could be one reason why the media failed to report much about what happened in China.
