Do you remember SOPA? The bill that would give government the right to spy on internet activity without warrant, and let them censor “unwanted” sites by blocking people’s access to them?
Meet its twin. But this time it’s all the more frightening; the House has passed it despite Obama’s threats to veto. And by an alarmingly large margin, at that. CISPA threatens the US constitution’s guarantees of due privacy and free speech, permitting any government agency to access and transfer of vast amounts of data- from internet records to even the content of personal e-mails, and all without obtaining a warrant.
What’s even more disgusting than this bill actually making through the House is some of the arguments used to help it’s passage, and comments made by one of the bill’s biggest supporters admitting the bill helps big business while insulting opposers (whose is also speculated to have personal reasons for wanting CISPA made into law).
This threatens every element of your online presence. From personal emails to general activity, any government agency will have the ability to go fishing without consequence.
Please, PLEASE, sign the following petitions. You don’t even have to be a US citizen to sign most of them or act against CISPA, and please keep in mind that if this shit flies in America, who knows what country might use its example to do it, too.

Remember when everyone was giving more than two shits about that internet petition to tell the obama administration WE DON’T WANT CISPA? Lot of good that did, and by “lot” I mean none. CISPA recently, and shamelessly, passed in the house and is now moving to the senate for debate. You guys need to contact your local congressman and tell them that you do not want CISPA to pass! That is the only viable way to have an impact on whether this passes or not.
Want to hear somthing that will make you angrier? Congressman McCaul is just one of many using the tragic Boston bombing as an excuse to pass CISPA, similarly to how USA PATRIOT ACT got passed because of the 9/11 bombings and that is not okay. He claims that had a bill like that had been in place to begin with, the bombing might have been avoidable.
Words cannot describe how angry this makes me. The worst part is I don’t know what makes me angrier. The fact our representatives went againt our clearly voiced opinions on the matter and passed CISPA in the house, or the fact the congressmen are using the Boston Bombings to gain leeway to get it passed as law entirely.
Spread the word that CISPA, what congressmen are doing to trying to get it passed, how it is on the threshold of becoming law, and get angry about it.
Reblog for internet freedom and awareness of congress abuse of tragedies to pass an unlawful bill! Let them no you’re not okay with this bill, and even more so how they’re using the Boston Bombings as an excuse to get it passed!
((Obama said he’d veto this. But even still, this needs signing no matter what part of the world you’re from. This just doesn’t impact America, it impacts everyone.))

Fox News actually reported this as him being “testy.” Yes, because wanting to enjoy your breakfast is totally rude.

Mitt Romney showed the size of his largess when after losing the election he cut off funding to the credit cards for thousands of his staffers, leaving some stranded and without a revenue source.
Many campaign workers found themselves in restaurants, or cabs with an anxious vendor waiting to be paid and the staffer’s credit cards declined. Mitt Romney left them holding the bag, and he was no longer willing to foot the bill. Some workers found themselves stranded in strange cities across the nation, hundreds or thousands of miles from home, without a penny in their pocket and no plan of action to take next.
This entire scenario is a window into the type of man Mitt Romney is at his core. When there is nothing to lose, and the cameras are not rolling, he is a ruthless individual.
Some members of the Romney staff took it in stride. MSNBC.com reported one staffer who, when asked about the credit cards being cut off, shrugged and said: “Fiscally conservative.”
As is often the case, the perspective of the situation depends on how one looks at the situation.
hahaha holy shit what a fucking prick wow
